My Father's Friend

A son visits his father in the village to say goodbye — and discovers the old man has an imaginary friend.

Kerem (35) wants to tell his father, who lives alone in the village, that he is moving abroad. During his visit he realises that his father has an imaginary friend. Kemal Akçay is a director, editor and film analyst based in Türkiye. Since 2019 he has run Filmin Anatomisi, a cinema platform dedicated to film-analysis workshops, where he has presented hundreds of film analyses. My Father's Friend, his short fiction film, has travelled to festivals in Türkiye and abroad, collecting awards for its performances, cinematography and jury recognition.
